This is a summary  of the two brothers, the railroad empire they developed, the impact of their businesses on Cleveland, some of which which exist today.  It includes a a discussion of their Advisory Mechanical Committee and its impact on steam locomotive design for several years

Many people think of the New York Central only had the four track main line between New York City and Chicago. There is more to the New York Central railroad system; and a lot of people don’t know that it actually did get down into West Virginia.
